Deep Steamed Sencha has a slightly less intense
flavor than the Fukamushi Sencha Tea.
This is Japan's "national drink;" sipped in offices, restaurants, or
served to guests at traditional Japanese inns (ryokan). Unlike Chinese
teas, which are "dry-fried," Japan sencha is steamed briefly before
rolling and drying. As a result, Japan sencha green tea has a clean,
fresh, vegetal taste, with a hint of sweetness.
Remember: keep the temperature low (160-180 degrees), and steep for only
1 or 2 minutes. Japan Sencha has a great lingering aftertaste. The second
infusion (1-2 min.) is also delicious.
