Brown Betty Teapots
Made by Cauldon Pottery in Stoke-on Trent,
Staffordshire,
Brown Betty teapots are formed from clay which
comes from the same area where Elder Brothers
found clay in 1695. The red terracotta clay with
its Rockingham Glaze, is said to hold heat
better and makes the perfect cup of tea.
Sometimes called Red Ware teapots, our Brown
Betty's are offered in 2-cup,
4-cup, and 6-cup sizes. Colors vary from medium
to dark chocolate, and there are
some imperfections due to the old style of
manufacture. (Note:
These teapots do not
come with infuser baskets. See
Infusers.)
